1. In a worksheet, click where you want to insert the operator.
2. To insert an Equation Break operator, on the Math tab, in the Operators and Symbols group, click Operators. The Operators list opens. Click Equation-Break Addition.
3. Insert the desired variables in the two placeholders.
4. Press Ctrl+Shift+- to insert the Equation-Break Subtraction operator .
Alternatively, on the Math tab, in the Operators and Symbols group, click Operators. The Operators list opens. Click Equation-Break Subtraction.
5. To toggle the Equation Break operator.
a. Click the inserted operator.
b. On the Math tab, in the Style group, click Equation Break.
The Enter arrow disappears and the left placeholder, the algebraic operator and the right placeholder are displayed on a single line.
