Design matrices record the factor levels and the blocking that you use for each run of an experiment. Design matrices have the following format:
• Columns specifying the runs, the blocks, and the levels of each factor under investigation
• A header with the following strings: “Run”, “Block”, “A”, “B”, ...
You can use built-in functions to create design matrices. You can also define your own design matrices as long as they have the required format. The levels in design matrices can be entered as coded or real values. For example:
